Our mission is simple: to make your job easier. We’re committed to helping you keep your tools in peak condition so you can work efficiently, comfortably, and with confidence - whether you’re grooming show dogs, styling hair, or cutting fabrics. We also believe in sharing knowledge around proper tool care and maintenance, helping extend the life and performance of your equipment. We stand by our work, which is why every blade is tested by hand and re-sharpened at no charge if it doesn’t meet expectations.
About Us
We're Your Mail-in Sharpening Experts.
Where We Started
Precision Sharpening is a small, family-run business with roots in the professional pet grooming community. It was founded in 2006 by Craig Cazier, whose passion for show dogs led him to establish a sharpening service for fellow groomers who had limited options for reliable sharpening and repair. Craig’s goal was simple but demanding: provide expert service and consistently restore scissors and shears to proper working condition every time. What began as a service for the dog show community naturally expanded to include hairstylists, tailors, and other professionals who depend on precision cutting tools.

In 2024, Craig passed the torch to his grandson, Jordan Harada. Jordan continues the original vision of the business while introducing fresh ideas focused on transparency, education, and process improvement. His goal is to help customers better understand how sharpening and maintenance affect tool performance, and to provide clear, reliable service whether tools are dropped off locally or mailed in from across the country.
Our work is guided by professional training, hands-on experience, and a commitment to consistency. Jordan was trained directly by a master sharpener, learning industry-standard sharpening systems, shear geometry, adjustment techniques, and quality control practices used in professional environments. This foundation emphasized not only sharpness, but proper function, alignment, and repeatable results.
Every tool we service is individually inspected, sharpened, adjusted where appropriate, and tested for performance before it is returned. Tools are never batch-processed or rushed through a system. This attention to detail helps ensure predictable cutting, reduced hand fatigue, and reliable performance for professionals who depend on their tools every day.
In 2026, as part of our ongoing effort to modernize and expand our services, we identified a local need for professional sharpening of woodworking and industrial cutting tools. To better serve our community, we added sharpening for table saw blades, router bits, chisels, and other woodworking equipment.
This service is available to professional woodworkers, mills, cabinet shops, and tradespeople, as well as DIY woodworkers and farmers working on smaller projects. By offering this locally, we help extend tool life, improve performance, and eliminate the need to ship equipment out of town.
